CONSTITUTION OF TELUGU ASSOCIATION OF MALAYSIA :

RULE: 3 MEMBERSHIP.

There shall be the following four categories of membership:-

  1. Ordinary membership and ordinary life membership shall be opened to all Malaysian Citizens of Telugu origin who subscribe to the objectives of the Persatuan.
  2. Associate Membership shall be open to residents in Malaysia who subscribe to the objectives of the Persatuan.
  3. Honorary Membership which may be conferred by unanimous vote of the Central Executive Committee on persons who have rendered distinguished services to the Persatuan.

RULE :4 ENROLMENT.
  1. Application for membership shall be made on prescribed forms and Submitted to the Branch Secretary of the Persatuan nearest to the place of residence of the applicant.
  2. All applications for membership shall be considered by the Executive Committee of the respective branches will shall have the powers to approve applications.
  3. Committee of the respective branches will shall have the powers to approve applications.
  4. Copies of particular of all members enrolled and the entrance fees shall be forwarded by the Branch Secretary to the Honourary General Secretary of Persatuan one (1) month before the Biennial General Meeting of the respective Branch on or before 31st March.

RULE : 5 SUBSCRIPTION

  1. Diagram as above The subscription for Ordinary Membership shall be for a biennial term which expires by the end of 31st December of the following year.An Ordinary Member who is in arrears of Subscription for a period of three months after the expiry date,shall cease to be a member.

RULE :6 PRIVILEGES OF MEMBERS.

  1. Ordinary members and Ordinary Life Members shall:-
  • Have the right to speak,nominate and be nominated and vote at General Meetings of the Persatuan and relevant branches.
  • Have an ownership right and be a beneficiary of all assets owned by the Persatuan.Such rights shall be transferable to a nominee of the member.
  • Have the right ti take part in all activities organised by the Persatuan.
  • Receive a copy of by-laws of the Persatuan.
  • Receive a Life Membership Certificate and a Membership Card.
  • An Ordinary Life Member will receive a Personal Accident Policy not exceeding RM 10,000 and Natural death sum not exceeding RM 1,000 for which the premium is paid by the branch, whereby an Ordinary Member does not.
  • Associate Members shall have the right to attend meetings of the Persatuan but they shall not have the right to vote or hold office in the Persatuan.They also enjoy the priviledges as in the Persatuan.They also enjoy the priviledges as in Rule 6 (I) (c), (d) and (e).

RULE : 7 REGISTER OF MEMBERS.

The Central Executive Committee shall cause a register of members, with Particulars of each member, to be maintained by the Honorary General Secretaries of each branch.

RULE : 8 RESIGNATION OF MEMBERS.
Any member who wishes to resign from the Persatuan shall give two weeks notice in writing to his/her Branch Secreatary and shall pay up all dues.
